Spring Thread® – The Ultimate Anti-Aging Lift for Sagging
Skin
This unique non-surgical thread treatment is a rare find, providing a truly long-lasting solution to facial sagging skin.
Spring Thread® lifting has emerged as a popular treatment option for those seeking to correct facial skin sagging without invasive surgical procedures. While many threads are made of materials
that provide only a temporary lift, quickly disintegrating and being expelled by the body, Spring Thread® stands out. It offers a permanent, natural-looking lift, ensuring you look like the best
version of yourself.
How Does it work?
Spring Thread® works by replacing weakened connective tissue, lifting facial skin diagonally upwards and back. This addresses loose, sagging skin, restoring a more youthful facial appearance. Immediate effects improve over time, continuing to enhance for up to a year.

This procedure is suitable for individuals who:
- Are experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity in the face, jawline, or neck.
- Prefer a non-surgical alternative to a traditional facelift.
- Have realistic expectations about the results.
- Are in good general health and do not have contraindications such as severe skin conditions, active infections, or blood clotting disorders.
Why is Spring Thread Lift unique?
Spring Thread® is unique among thread treatments
due to its elasticity, which resembles natural skin.
It can stretch and retract, allowing it to lengthen
and shorten with facial expressions like your skin.
This ensures a very natural-looking effect without
compromising the lift. At our Sister Clinic Cosmetic Surgery of The Royal Liver Building, our highly skilled and renowned
facelift specialist, Dr Usman Qureshi, performs these
procedures, ensuring the best possible results.

FAQS For Spring Thread Lift
*Carried out in Cosmetic Surgery of The Royal Liver Building our CQC registered Clinic
During the Spring Thread® treatment, local anaesthesia is administered to numb the treatment area and improve comfort during the procedure. The Spring Thread® is inserted beneath the skin using a fine needle. The thread's cogs engage with the underlying tissue to provide support and reposition the skin. The treated area is then gently adjusted as required. The procedure typically takes around one hour, although treatment times may vary depending on the areas being treated, including the neck.
PDO threads are absorbable and typically dissolve within 3–4 months. Spring Thread® is a non-absorbable thread designed to remain in place and provide ongoing support to the treated tissues. Both thread types may stimulate collagen remodelling in the treated area.
PDO threads and Spring Thread® differ in their design, longevity, and intended treatment areas. PDO threads are commonly used to treat the face and neck, while Spring Thread® may be used on the face, neck, breasts, arms, buttocks, and legs, depending on individual suitability and clinical assessment.
The duration of results can vary between individuals. PDO thread results typically last several months, while Spring Thread® results may last for a number of years, depending on factors such as age, skin quality, and lifestyle.
Spring Thread® treatment can be repeated in the future, depending on individual needs and treatment response. Some patients choose maintenance treatments approximately every 2–4 years to help maintain results.
Removal of the threads is not usually required. If necessary, they can be removed or adjusted by a qualified practitioner.
Having Spring Thread® does not typically prevent you from undergoing a future facelift, although suitability should always be assessed by a surgeon on an individual basis.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia to help minimise discomfort. Patients may feel some pressure or mild sensation during treatment, but it is generally well tolerated.
EXPECTED SIDE EFFECTS & RISKS
While a Spring Thread Lift is generally well tolerated, as with any cosmetic procedure, there are potential risks and side effects which vary between individuals.
Common Side Effects (usually resolve within days to weeks):
◆ Mild swelling and bruising at the treatment site.
◆ Temporary tenderness, soreness, or discomfort.
◆ A sensation of tightness or pulling, which typically settles as the threads integrate.
◆ Mild asymmetry, which usually improves as swelling subsides.
Less Common Risks:
◆ Thread visibility or palpability – in some cases, threads may be felt under the skin.
◆ Mild puckering or dimpling – this often improves as the tissue settles.
◆ Localised infection – this is uncommon and risk is reduced with appropriate aftercare.
◆ Temporary nerve irritation or altered sensitivity.
Rare Risks (very uncommon but may require medical assessment):
◆ Thread migration or extrusion – a thread may move or become visible and may require review or adjustment.
◆ Prolonged swelling or bruising – may require further assessment if persistent.
◆ Allergic reaction – very rare, but possible in sensitive individuals.
The cost of treatment is currently £3,500 for the face and £2,500 for the neck. A combined face and neck treatment is available at a total price of £5,500.
The silicone Spring Threads® are designed to remain in place long term and are made from biocompatible materials intended for use within the body. Many patients are able to live comfortably with them beneath the skin without being aware of their presence.
In some cases, complications may occur, and the threads can be removed if clinically necessary by an experienced practitioner.
Spring Thread® is a non-absorbable treatment designed to remain in place long term and gradually integrate with the surrounding tissue.
Results typically last up to 5 years, although this can vary depending on the individual and the natural ageing process.
While this treatment can provide long-lasting lifting and rejuvenation effects, it does not stop the natural ageing process.
After several years, options may include:
• Maintaining the results as they are
• Having a further Spring Thread® treatment
• Choosing an alternative surgical or non-surgical rejuvenation option
There are generally few absolute medical contraindications; however, certain medical conditions, including some autoimmune disorders, may increase risks or affect suitability for treatment.
All patients will have an initial consultation with a member of the clinical team to assess suitability and provide further information about the procedure. If appropriate, this will be followed by a consultation with the treating doctor for a full medical assessment and discussion of treatment options.
The lifting effect is typically immediate, although this may vary between individuals. Final results usually improve over approximately 4–6 weeks as swelling subsides and the body’s natural collagen response develops.
A Spring Thread Lift is one of several options available for facial rejuvenation. Alternative treatments include:
SofWave – a non-invasive ultrasound-based treatment designed to stimulate collagen production and help improve the appearance of skin laxity and sagging without the use of threads.
EndoDefine – a minimally invasive, energy-based treatment that uses controlled heat to support skin tightening and may help improve facial contours and skin laxity.
Dr. Qureshi will be able to discuss these options with you during your consultation if you are unsure whether a Spring Thread Lift is the most suitable option for your individual goals and assessment.
