STAY COOL
Using ice packs or ice cubes is an excellent way to reduce swelling in lips after lip injections. Wrap an ice cube in a soft towel and apply softly to the lips. Be sure to use a material that will not adhere to your lips, as this could be painful when removed. Apply the ice softly and avoid vigorously massaging or pressing your lips, as this could cause the filler to migrate and waste our doctor’s time in carefully selecting injection sites for you! Heat can exacerbate swelling, so you should avoid hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms for a day or two following your treatment.RELAXING
DIET AND INTAKE
Foods that are heavy in sodium might induce fluid retention and bloating. Salty and spicy foods may also irritate the sensitive skin of your lips if you consume them after receiving injections. Drinking enough of water will aid in healing and decrease fluid retention.KEEP YOUR ELEVATED
After the treatment, it would be beneficial if you could keep your head up for a few hours. If possible, sleep sitting up, or at least with your head elevated on a pillow. Maintaining an upright position will utilise the force of gravity to assist excess saliva to drain from the lips. Avoid sleeping on your side or on your stomach, since both positions may promote puffiness.NO KISSING
Unfortunately, kissing immediately after your filler treatment is not advised! Anything that exerts pressure on the lips may exacerbate the swelling. It would be advantageous for you to avoid dental operations for the same reason. Additionally, drinking with a straw can prolong swelling lips. Even wearing lip pencils might exacerbate swelling, but you will only have to go without makeup for twenty-four hours!MOISTURIZE YOUR LIPS
You could use a little aloe vera to calm your skin or arnica cream to minimize bruising and reduce swelling after lip filers, but before applying anything to your lips, you should consult with our experienced medical staff. You will soon have the gorgeous lips you’ve always desired if you take a little additional care of your lips following your lip augmentation procedure.
